I'm not dead

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 26, 2006, 3:53 PM
  • Mood: Relief
  • Listening to: Skillet
  • Drinking: Coffee
Alright, I'm making my return to dA, after my recent burnout. While there is still much to do, there is considerably less, due to the fact that Japanese class is now over (was fun, but took up soooo much time) and I now have a car again (yeah, someone nailed me on my way to work, and totalled my car. Nobody was hurt, and I have a new one now, but I also have no money+car payments). I'd like to respond to all the messages and deviations that I got like I usually do, but there were 150+ message centre items, and 90+ of them were deviations, so I'm just picking and choosing a few to comment on, but I did look at/read all of them.

As for what's coming next, I'd like to get back into traditional art again, though it might be a bit before I get good again (and by good I mean, as good as I was before, which is really only good in comparison to myself right now, as I haven't drawn anything since the beginning of October.) As for the storyline I was developing, I'm going to put that on hold as I try to finish up all my other projects and not pick up any more, then I can dedicate more effort into it. It got really big and detailed, and even though I only posted images and details for a very small portion (so far you only know about, I think 3 or 4 characters so far maybe?) that I am rolling it into the plotline of my original story; so if anyone out there was actually trying to follow what was developing, I'm sorry, but it's all about to change. :XD: Oh well, enough ramblings for now. I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas, and I wish you all a wonderful new year!

But it's really cool that it could actually be done! So is that how people make their own slight variants of fonts already existing also?

Of course, with something like Theban, typing it would kinda defeat the purpose. The only reason Wiccans use Theban is because the effort of the actual process of writing and decoding something you're not used to doing supposedly 'inputs energy' into the script. If it were typed, it'd 'lose it's power.'

Yes. You would need to build a font (which everyone viewing it would need) that contains all the glyphs, and then make a plugin for SCIM (Smart Common Input Method, what converts your keyboard input to the other language), which would require understanding of SCIM's architecture. Knowledge of programming languages if a huge (prolly mandatory) plus.

Ah. Well. Linux rocks, then.
Could you program Theban into Linux? Hypothetically.

what, you mean how did I type in Hiragana? In Linux, there is a multi-language feature that lets you type the romaji and it automatically comes up as Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji. Don't know how to do it in windows though.

I know what you said, but how do I translate the romaji into Hiragana? ^^;

"Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us."

Show your friends how much you care. Send this
to everyone you consider a FRIEND, even if
it means sending it back to the person who sent it to you. If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends!

Well, technically you see, I am a doctor of evil...

Nevertheless, I thank you for the valentines day cheer, and would gladly offer you a [Box of Chocolates] I recieved from a town guard, were it not soulbound...
